INTRODUCTION

Xi'an Middle School of Shaanxi Province (3-year high school), which is located in the north area of Xi'an City, dates from 1907, and was the first public school set up in the province at that time. It is now the only middle school under the direct control of Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, which is the highest level of secondary education. There are over 5,000 students and 268 teachers in school, of whom approximately 150 are full-time teachers. The rate of admission to famous Chinese universities, such as those in the“211”,and“985”programs, remains at more than 70%. Meanwhile there are many students admitted to the international well-known universities every year.

 

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION CENTER

In 2011, the school set up a new program to accommodate a large numbers of students who wish to study abroad. The center offers Chinese curriculum, ESL, AP classes,as well as college counseling. Nowadays there are around 200 students, 5 experienced foreign teachers, and over 40 local teachers in the center. To emulate the education system of foreign universities, classes are taught in a small scale and our teachers are dedicated to applying all sorts of interactive teaching methods to motivate students.
